SFS licences
This page explains how SFS licences work, and when you will need to Apply to use the SFS to create a new account.
Licences and accounts
SFS licences are given to organisations. This means that once your organisation has a licence, it can be used by any staff who have an account.
We no longer use shared usernames and passwords for organisations, so individual staff will need to sign up for their own account.
Applying for an SFS licence
If your organisation doesn’t yet hold a licence, you will need to complete the Apply to use the SFS form.
Complete the application form by:
- confirming you don’t already have a licence,
- entering a business email address
- explaining what your organisation does and how it will use the SFS.
We’ll aim to review your application within 10 working days, although we may ask for further information.
What we check when you apply
We’ll consider your organisation’s role, the services it provides and whether its use of the SFS is appropriate. We might also check an organisation’s regulatory status, such as its FCA registration or any relevant professional memberships.
Organisations that don’t provide advice are considered on the basis of their role and proposed use of the SFS.
Creating a new account for a licenced organisation
You can still use the Apply to use the SFS form to request a new account for an individual within an organisation that already holds a licence.
You’ll need to:
- confirm that your organisation already holds a licence
- enter your organisation’s membership number
- complete the form using your work email address
- follow the instructions in the verification email to complete your account setup.
Your work email domain (the part after the @ symbol) must match the domain we have on record for your organisation. If your organisation is using a different email domain, contact our team on [email protected] for help.
If you were registered on our previous website
Your account may have been migrated. Select ‘Login’, enter your work email address and choose ‘Forgot password’ to set your own password. You won’t be able to use your organisation’s old shared login.
